BUILDING B2 TECHNOLOGICAL PLANTS UPGRADE
Rome

Commissioned by: SKY Italia

Architecture: Starching. S.r.l.

Detail design and site supervision for the solution of some critical aspect in the plants architecture.

Scope of the work has been the renewal of the system's architecture and in particular of the following important aspects of the installation:

  •   Clean earth management in the rack rooms

  •   Installation of over-voltage suppression devices

  •   Switch of the no-break supply system from a N+1 single point of failure on the parallel bar to a A+B redundant system

The two indoor Gen Sets have been enclosed and installed outside the building.
The freed space has allowed the installation of the no-break supply devices in two different REI compartments, both separated from the batteries room where the risk of fire is higher.

The work has also been focused on the procedures to replace all the systems (UPSs, Gen Sets, transformers) creating the less possible interruptions of the Data Centre's activity.
Such operations have been carried out successfully during the works.
